Paisley - The Great Outdoors
Paisley’s beautiful parks lie close to the town centre, the largest being Barshaw Park. Fountain Gardens, a few minutes walk from Gilmour Street Station, is one of the earliest municipal parks in Scotland. It has a very fine statue of Robert Burns and a spectacular cast iron fountain. On the southern edge of town lies Gleniffer Braes Country Park, where woods and waterfalls give way to heather-clad moorland and breathtaking views of the whole Clyde Valley.

Twenty minutes away near Lochwinnoch is Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, with centres at Castle Semple and Muirshiel. The Park is a great place to walk, cycle, sail and windsurf. Equipment hire is available, and the rangers provide information, guided walks and other activities such as orienteering and woodcraft.
A network of traffic-free cycle routes covers the area, including National Cycle Route 7 and 75, which link Paisley to Glasgow to the east, and to Greenock and Irvine in the west and south.
