Bridge of Weir

Lying in picturesque Strathgryffe, Bridge of Weir is a pleasant residential village some seven miles from Paisley on the A761. The main street has an interesting selection of shops, restaurants and cafes.

The village has two excellent golf courses, Ranfurly Castle Golf Club and Old Ranfurly Golf Club. There are a number of delightful walks around the village and along the River Gryffe to Houston or Crosslee.  A new leaflet of walks is available from the village library, the Pirie Information Centre, Lochnagar Coffee Shop, or download here. The national cycle route NCR 75 from Edinburgh to Greenock passes through the area and is popular with walkers and birdwatchers as well as cyclists.

The village does not have a train station, so if you intend to travel by train, change to bus in Paisley or Johnstone.
